On the first of each month we will have a Throwdown Host who will post a recipe and challenge the rest of us to a Throwdown. What does that mean? It means we take the recipe, put our own spin on it, make it and then post our version of the original recipe along with the pictures. This is to challenge all fo us to think outside the box and show our creativity! No contest, no voting, just fun food ideas!
Rules:
1. We won't post our finished recipes or pictures until the last day of the month! That way people who haven't made it yet, won't get intimidated by all of the great cooks out there and it will be a surprise all at once.
2. The host will also be in charge of letting us know what they want to keep the same in the dish, ex: Short Rib Throwdown – you must use beef short ribs, no substitutions! or Paella Throwdown – must have rice, chicken, seafood & sausage in it, meaning you must have these in the dish but it is your choice as to what type you use. The rest of the recipe can have whatever you want to add to it or take away from it.
3. You MUST post the Throwdown link on your blog here at Great Cooks and on your personal food blog. We want to drive as much traffic to both as we can.
4. When you join, you agree to be the Throwdown Host and post a recipe for the Throwdown. When posting your Throwdown PLEASE keep in mind that ingredients local to you might not be local to everyone. So the Host must have suggestions of substitutions and/or links where we can purchase these items online. We all love the international flavor of this community and would love to experience other dishes we might not otherwise cook.
5. Throwdown Hosts will be chosen in order of joining ... Are You Ready for a THROWDOWN?
